Just tap the link to go back to My Shortcuts and you’ll see the Convert Video to GIF shortcut you just created. Kapwings GIF maker is easy to use, online, and free. The rest of the steps are the same, except for there is no Done button. Select the video that you want to make a GIF from. Once done, you’ll be shown all the videos that are in your Photos library. The shortcut will now request permission to the Photos app. Type Save into that search field on the right top of the window and tap the Save to Photo Album item to add it to the shortcut. Once installed, head back to the My Shortcuts section and tap on the Make GIF shortcut to start using it. You can also apply transitions, animations, and cool filters and frames from the editor to let your imagination run wild. There’s also not a + button on the screen, once again because it’s not necessary on the iPad. Join the fun and use Canva’s free GIF maker Upload your images or video files, add text, embellish with stickers, or use quirky templates before publishing them as a GIF file. GIF maker allows you to instantly create your animated GIFs by combining separated image files as frames. Go to step 4, type gif into the search field on the right top of the window, and tap on the Make GIF action to add it to the shortcut. ![]() There is a difference in step 3, as there is no Add Action button since on the iPad and iPad Pro, the actions are listed on the right side of the screen and there’s no need for that extra step. It’s built with various capabilities and features, but most get in your way to make fantastic stuff. Just to make sure that I wasn’t missing a step somewhere (note that I check my instructions repeatedly when I write how-to articles), I just erased the shortcut from the Shortcuts app, then followed the directions while on my iPad Pro. 5SecondsApp Animated Gif 5secondsapp-animated-gif 5SecondsApp is the GiF maker app for iPhone that lets you create animated GiF from videos and photos. This app allows you to create and draw your own GIF from existing video footage, picture gallery, cloud storage services, or just using their black canvas. I have no doubt that it will work on a Mac running macOS Monterey in a few months. ImgPlay GIF Maker is a superbly practical and fun GIF app for Android and iPhone users for free with an optional upgrade. I’m the author of this article, and the same shortcut works on my new M1 iPad Pro and iPhone with no difficulties.
